An Anadolu Isuzu Vehicle Continues to Visit Schools As Part of the Mobile Library Project
Anadolu Isuzu continues to bring books to primary school students in and around Izmir’s underprivileged districts since 2015 with a vehicle turned into a mobile library. The mobile library, built inside the vehicle allocated by Anadolu Isuzu, has 1,238 books provided by the Bornova District Public Library. The project that aims to instill the habit of reading in children also offers an opportunity for the students to discover young writers and workshops to improve their language skills and development. The Mobile Library Project is made possible with the support of the Provincial Directorate of Education and Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism. In the 2019-2020 academic year, the project engaged with 18,124 students and loaned out 7,129 books.
Visiting 21 schools every academic year
The Mobile Library Project, launched in 2015 in Izmir with the understanding that reaching world standards in reading habits depends on the opportunities made available to children at a young age, continues to visit 21 schools, determined by the Provincial Directorates of Education, every academic year, repeating its calls at these schools every three weeks over the course of nine months. Additionally, since the 2018-2019 academic year, a new school is visited one day of the three-week period to spread the project wider and raise awareness about reading books among more students.
Having reached 96,694 students since 2015, the Mobile Library project will continue to bring books to children in the new academic year.
