Increasing its medium-size coach exports by 113% in 2021, Anadolu Isuzu became the "Export Champion" in the segment for the 18th time

Turkey's commercial vehicle brand Anadolu Isuzu continued to reinforce its success in foreign markets with new records in 2021 with increasing sales and delivery figures.   Continuing production in the commercial vehicle segment without slowing down under the pandemic conditions and to expand into new markets while strengthening its position in the existing ones during this period, Anadolu Isuzu became the "Export Champion" for the 18th time in the medium-size coach segment, according to the Automotive Industry Association (OSD) 2021 data. Moreover, increasing its share in Turkey's medium-size coach and bus segment exports to 17.2% during this period, the company reached the highest level in its export history owing t this value.  Considering solely the exports in the medium-size coach segment, Anadolu Isuzu's share climbed to 52%.  The share of the company in the bus-only segment became 10%.

 

“Record increase in exports despite the decline in the sector”

 

Anadolu Isuzu General Manager Tuğrul Arıkan said in his statement regarding the subject: “As Anadolu Isuzu, we are very pleased with the momentum we have achieved in 2021 and especially our achievements in exports.  Last year, the number of vehicles we exported in the medium-size coach segment was 4 times more than the closest exporter to us.  In line with these results, we were able to achieve the ‘Export Championship’, which has become a tradition for our company in this segment for the 18th time.  We achieved a significant success in this segment by reaching a share of 10 percent in the total bus exports.  The importance and magnitude of our success can be interpreted more clearly when the fact that our country is positioned as the bus production center of the world is considered. While the total bus and medium-size coach exports from Turkey decreased by 24% in the sector in 2021, as Anadolu Isuzu, we increased our unit-based exports by 113% in the same period.  In this respect, 2021 has been the third best year in our export history, after 2008 and 2019.  As Anadolu Isuzu, we will continue to provide qualified and versatile contributions to Turkey's economy by our production and exports."
