Anadolu Isuzu joins the global 'Drive to Zero' initiative

The global 'Drive to Zero' initiative, initiated by the joint venture of the sectoral organizations and leading companies of the automotive industry welcomes its new member “ Turkey's commercial vehicle brand Anadolu Isuzu”. In light of having been focused on the goal of achieving 100% zero emissions in new truck and bus sales by 2040, in the production of commercial vehicles, the Drive to Zero initiative sets specific targets for the commercial vehicles segment and coordinates the efforts to achieve these targets. The global 'Drive to Zero' initiative accepts the membership of the leading industrial companies only with their commitment and declaration of keeping their activities in line with the goals of the initiative.

 

Actively taking part in numerous global and regional initiatives with the aim of accelerating the transition to zero-emission commercial vehicles, the Drive to Zero Initaive has its members from the forefront commercial vehicle manufacturers or leading companies that develop solutions for them, operating in many countries, especially the EU and the USA,.

 

Anadolu Isuzu General Manager Tuğrul Arıkan stated “As Anadolu Isuzu, we attach great importance to sustainability and work to minimize our environmental footprint. Our participation as a member in an important initiative such as Drive to Zero is an indication of our company's determination towards these goals. We share the zero emission targets of this initiative, and believe that efforts towards these goals are of vital importance in the field of commercial vehicle production. Expectations regarding more environmentally sensitive vehicles using technology that stand out in the field of environmental sustainability effectively are increasing all over the world, by the municipalities, transportation operators and logistics sectors. In this direction, we aim to increase the diversity of our completely electric and CNG engine, low emission and environmentalist vehicle models that attract attention all over the world every passing year.”

 

Anadolu Isuzu, a pioneer in the production of environmentally friendly vehicles

 

Fully electric and CNG powered vehicles produced by Anadolu Isuzu in Turkey attract interest increasingly all around the world. The Novociti VOLT, Anadolu Isuzu's first fully electric model, was primarily exported to France in 2021. Meanwhile, Kendo/Interliner, the 100% Biogas compatible and environmentally friendly CNG engine model of the company was selected as the "Bus of the Year" at the "Sustainable Bus" Awards organized across Europe.

 

With its efforts to leave a livable planet to the future generations, Anadolu Isuzu prepared and publicly shared the "Sustainability Report" in the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standard for the third time.
